Alcohol-related crashes: Fatalities result from Texas accident

Other drivers could possibly be considered one of the most dangerous aspects of traveling the roadways. Individuals cannot always trust drivers to pay attention or follow traffic signals and other directions. There is also the chance that a driver could be under the influence, which can put many lives at risk. Unfortunately, alcohol-related crashes can have devastating results.

It was recently reported that an accident in Texas believed to have involved alcohol. Reports stated that a man was driving his vehicle southbound when he collided with a car traveling west. The collision caused the second vehicle to spin and collide with a pole at the intersection. Witnesses to the accident reportedly stated that the driver of the southbound vehicle did not stop at a red light.

One occupant of the second vehicle was declared dead at the scene, another individual in that car died at an area hospital and a third occupant was considered to be in critical condition. There was also another individual in that vehicle, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening. The driver of the first vehicle was treated for injuries and taken into custody due to authorities believing he was under the influence at the time of the fatal crash.

Alcohol-related crashes can sometimes be the most difficult situations for victims' families to contend with. They may feel that the incident could have been avoided if the intoxicated driver had simply not gotten behind the wheel. Unfortunately, these accidents do take place and parties may need to put their mind on other matters, such as possibly filing a legal claim. A wrongful death claim may have a greater chance of success if the driver in this Texas accident is convicted of any charges relating to the event.
